Owl Staff Bobby: How have these students contributed to school activities? Owl: These energetic Seniors have made possible the publication of this book. The Staff, elected at the end of their Junior year, was organized early in the fall term, Senior year. Planning began immediately. Each editor had several helpers. Miss White, literary advisor, continually asked for copy to be approved while Mr. Johnson kept the business staff on the job. Although the task was a complicated one, all obstacles were finally overcome through perserverance and hard work. v - 2:7 ij': K ig ' 'Nw is 4 Seated-Goll, Riemensclmeidor, Donald. P Q. 1 JAMES MORGAN . JOHN MCNEILL President Class H 'story Vice-President Owl: Before we really begin our tour, l think I should tell you a little about the background of the graduating class, Bobby. Bobby: Sure thing, Mr. Owl. Go right ahead-l'm a'listenin'! Owl: Well, the class of '48 has a right to be proud of itself. As Freshmen, we remained near the top all year in the sale of bonds and stamps. In 1945, as well-adiusted Sophs, with the help of Mrs. Kinne, we adopted a war orphan in an attempt to do our bit for Europe's youth. In our Junior year, through class unity, we were victorious in an exciting Class THERESA DeLUCA Secretary Nite. We began to realize the talent we had in our class when our Junior play, A Date With Judy was a great success. The theme of our first prom was Chinatown, The first semester of our Senior year was hectic, crammed to the brim with activities. After the Green and Gold parties campaigned, class officers were chosen on official voting machines. Our Senior play, Our Hearts Were Young and Gay was made a hit by the class Thespians. Morgan again proudly re- ceived the victor's cup at Class Nite. In February, averages were figured and we learned that our class possessed that rarity in L. H. S.-a male valedictorian!
