HARRY EID Prendenr MARILYN HEZINGER JANE UNDERWOOD Vue President Segfepgfy me fa In September of 1943 the halls of Lynbrook High School were invaded by a crowd of curious apprehen sive Frosh They soon learned that the rule was up the front stairs and down the back stairs Politically they elected Irwin Howell for president Bill Leek for vice president and Doris Skidmore for treasurer secre tary as their leaders in the Class Nite struggle Under the theme of St Valentine s Day our friends put up a losing battle against the well organized upper classes With june the seemingly endless four years were one fourth over When school reopened in September of 1944 the Sophomores sure and stable met to attack their new problems This year they sent into oflice Irwin Howell president Bill Leek vice president and Doris Skid more treasurer secretary The names of their leaders were beginning to be heard through offices in organtza tions Gone With the Wind was their theme for Class Nite but once again they were defeated. And here we are-juniors was the cry in 1945 as our friends tanned and bronzed reorganized to start the second half of their high school career. A change in officers came about: VVilliam Nagel was president Gerald Turner vice-president and jane Underwood I3 ZMZM 5671 treasurer secretary In October they added a socral highlight to the L H S calendar with the Football Frolic the first junior prom to be held in the Htgh School gym A cast of excited actors and actresses pre sented a hrghly successful play junior Miss in Febru ary 1946 The class really began to operate as a unit at Class Nite when they received second place with the comic strip theme- Popeye Once more September saw the opening of the doors to let in a group who were determined to make this year the very best of all There was another change in class officers Harry Eid president Marilyn Hezmger vice president and jane Underwood treasurer secre tary Ramshackle Inn a mystery farce definitely received the title of one of the most successful senior plays at Lynbrook High School Then came frenzied preparattons for our big events a tumultous Class N ite and senior prom and suddenly the big day was upon them. Where have the four years gone to? they ask. They are gone-but never to be forgotten. And now you ask who is this group whose history holds so much-none other than-the Class of 1947!
