JOHN VINCENT HANSON Swede Swede made his entrance from East Rockaway Junior High as a sophomore. On school days he was to be foimd either playing intramural basketball and baseball, or practising with the hand- ball and wrestling squads. He graduated in January, 1936. Business FRED I-LARGER Fritz In high school, varsity tennis and varsity ping pong: intramural basketball and intramural baseball commanded Fred's attention. However, he specialized in the four-year course reserved for music lovers, as a steady member of the band. College ERNEST HAHTMANN Ernie Ernie's strong point in his business course was bookkeeping. For activities, he chose archery in 1933, and later the Radio Club. He was associated with this Club as secretary, and as operator of Amateur Radio Station W21BW. Business Betty ELIZABETH LOUISE HENDRICK Betty's favorite pastime was working with the Dramatic Club. From the sports offered to Lynbrook students, she chose intra- mural basketball, roller skating, ping pong, and Class Night cheerleading. As a junior, she entered the state contest in Typ- mg. Dress Designing Dot Donornv M. IIERCHENRODER Dot attended St. Agnes High School for two years where she belonged to the Mission Sewing Club. Harney HELEN V. Gnu Outside of her business course, Helen was interested mainly in sports. She was a member of the intramural basketball team and the Ping Pong Club. The Roller Skating Club also found in her an enthusiastic member during her last two years. Business Sis MARY EaNEs'r1NE GRAF In freshman and sophomore years, Mary's after school efforts were concentrated in swimming. Within the next two years she folmd intramural basketball and bowling more to her taste. To gieie she added as social activities Glee Club and Marionette College The Grik HENRY GREENSTEIN Henry's athletic accomplishments were many as a member of the boys' swimming, wrestling, track, and archery teams. His social activities included the Dramatic Club, Press Club, and Science Club, the last of which he was president for two years. College DAVID IRA Gain-EN CHU Grifl ' took part in wrestling, JayVee football and intramural baseball for several years. In 1933 he belonged to the Archery Club, and he was an active member of the Boys' Hi-Y for two years. Business ELISABETH HALLENBECK Belly A business course occupied the major part of Betty's time in Lynbrook High School. In this field she favored typing. Phil PmLonvE HILLMAN Finding sports and clubs equally interesting, Phil divided her time accordingly. On the one hand, she became engaged in varsity basket all, hocke , and trackg while on the other hand, she worked with the I-Ii-J' and Glee Clubs. University of Chicago Ruthie RUTH HINCHLIFFE Ruth played in girls' varsity golf, intramural baseball, and intra- mural and Class Night basketball. She was a member of the Dramatic Club, having rendered a superb performance in The Ghost Train, the Junior Play. Business Nellie HELEN L. HOLMES Helen's athletic interests were confined to the Hiking and Bicycle Clubs. She lent her assistance to the class by working on Class Night committees, and when ping pongrzgttracted the interest of Lynbrook students, she was one of its t supporters.
