VIOLA E. CARMODY Vi Vi was both athletically and socially inclined. She was a member of the varsity basketball, tennis and track squads besides being in the Glee Club, Hi-Y, and Dramatic Club. As a senior, she represented her home-room on the Athletic Council. Undecided J ANE M. CARSON K it Intramural basketball, hiking, swimming, and soccer constituted Jane's athletic program in high school. In her senior year she was a home-room representative and a member of the refreshment committee for Class Night. At the same time, she belonged to the Press Club. Nurs ing School BEATBICE I. CASTAGNINO Bea Bea began a study of music at East Rockawa and continued it when she entered Lynbrook. Here she combined a course in theory with membership in the Glee Club. In her senior year she found enjoyment in belonging to the Riding Club. Normal School Frenchie MARCELLE CHARPENTIER While she attended Lynbrook, Marcelle's program included Glee Club, ping pong, riding, and hiking. For three successive Class Nights she served on the refreshment committees, and for the fourth, she and other art students decorated the senior corner. Traphagen School of Design Joe JOSEPH CHARVAT Joe was among the most faithful of Lynbrook's athletes, having been active in both intramural and varsity competition including all the major sports. His other interests were Hi-Y and Music. He played in both the band and the orchestra. Business I 16 l

Brownie GEORGE BROWN Brownie went out for varsity basketball in 1935 and 1936, and for varsit baseball in 1936. He played on one of the boys' intramural basketball teams in 1934, and was on Class Night teams for the last two seasons. Business Marty Mkarm R. Bunnrcx Marty possessed a liking for athletic activities as well as for other tasks. From an athletic standpoint he cooperated to build up the Archery, Rifle and Bowling teams. He exercised his social interests in the Hi-Y Club. Webb I ml ilule Jim JAMES F. BURKE While he was in Lynbrook, Jim turned his attention to the Hi-Y Club. He was a supporter not only of the chapter in school, but also of the area council. His other interests were the Science Club, Class Night committees and checkers. Hotel Management DONALD D. CAMPBELL Don Don was kept busy in high school with a number of sports: intramural football, basketball, swimmin , fencing, ping pong and track. Moreover, he has a record og four years with the Rifle Club and two years with the Science Club. Colorado School of Mines MADELINE CAPPAHELLI Cap This young lady played girls' baseball and girls' intramural basketball for the entire four seasons. She was a member of the Press Club, and her Class Night activities included basketball and coat checking. Business l 15 l

Judge FRANCIS X. CLAIR Upon enterin from Chaminade in 1934, Frank immediately began his work in the Dramatic Club, the Hi-Y, the Press, and the Glee Clubs. He played intramural basketball and was an important prop in the Class Night basketball team in 1935. Villanova University Nellie JEANETTE CLARK Nettie we t out for girls' track, archery club, swimming club, and hikingnclub. She assisted on the Class Night checking and refreshment committees, and rendered excellent service as the secretary of the Chess Club. Post Gruduale Phil PHILIP J. CLEMENTE Under the tutelage of Miss Cullen, Phil devoted four years to art work, turning out each Class Night to serve on the decorations committee. In 1935 he won a medal for second place in the American Legion Poster Contest. A rl School BETTY COAKLEY Belly Transferring from St. Agnes to Lynbrook High in 1933, Betty joined activel in the games of intramural basketball. Her efforts in this tleld were coupled with a like interest in journalism through the Press Club. Undecided EDNA I. Coon Cook When she was not engaged in studying business subjects, Edna sought recreation after school. For two years she found good exercise in competing with girls from other classes at basketball and baseball, and in belonging to the Hiking and Skating Clubs. Business I 17 l
