Guidance Helping the arriving students to adiust to their new surroundings, and aiding others in the planning necessary for future careers, the Guidance Depart- ment becomes an integral part of student life. Sophomores, under the direction of Mrs. Dolores Fox, receive various tests to acquaint them with their own personalities and capabilities. Further- more, they are made aware of the many programs offered at Lyman Hall and are guided in their selections so that they made may be prepared for whatever future they choose. Juniors still continue to investigate their own potentials and their suita- bility for different careers, under the guidance of Mr. Melvin Stone. For seniors, the necessity of for- mulating future plans becomes a must. They are given opportunities to confer with college representa- tives and to consult The Guidance Department's vast library of school catalogues. Miss Ethel Ken- nedy, the head of the department, aids seniors in filing college and scholarship applications, Or, if they wish to secure employment, students are in- formed as to methods of obtaining available posi- tions.
