LUVERNE 6 GEORGIANA 0 The Tigers first game of the season resulted 111 a hard won and wet victory A tough Luverne defense held Georgtana scoreless and the offense came through with a touchdown with a long run by Brown and a tally by Armstrong LUVERNE 20 ELBA 21 Losing this game was a great disappointment to us because the team played hard and were de feated by failing to make good one extra point Fumbles plagued us and Elbd turned several of them into touchdowns LUVERNE 0 ANDALUSIA 19 The scrappy Luverne defense kept the Andalusia team motionless during the first half In the second half they switched to passing and the Tigers were unable to defend against this a1r attack LUVERNE 41 BRANTLEY 7 As usual each team was determined to take home a vrctory from this game but the Brantley Bulldogs couldn t cope with 't swift Luverne offense and tts powerful defense Consequently the Tigers took home an unquestionable win LUVERNE 35 FORT DEPOSIT 7 The Luverne Tigers turned in the best game of the season while they romped over Fort Deposit The opposition was powerless to get the ball rolling because of an imposing Luverne line The Tiger offense sparkled with long runs and kept the P1gSklll moving throughout the game LUVERNE 27 HIGHLAND HOME 6 'lhe plucky Highland Home team gave the Tigers quite a scare by walking off with the ball in the first few minutes of the game and scoring a touchdown The Luverne Tigers quickly recovered and buckled down to do a little ball playing by dominating the ballgame after that LUVERNE 9 TROY 27 The Luverne team held strongly in the first half and were ahead as it ended The Troy team took were spotlighted in the halfttme activities and Miss Virginia NlcCartha was crowned Homecoming Queen of 58 LUVERNE 12 RAMAR 7 The Ramar eleven gave us one of the biggest scares of the season by keeping the lead throughout almost all of the game The Tigers were right behind them however just wattmg for the chance to Jump ahead This opportunity came lll the last seconds when the sharp Luverne quarterback Jeff Golden took the advantage and scored givtng us the victory LUVERNE 41 FLORALA 19 Luverne s Tigers gave the Florala team all kinds of trouble throughout the game and they couldn t seem to get the ball moving A sharp Tiger line held fast and the offense made big holes tn the Florala l1ne to rtng up points LUVHINE 6 OPP 34 The Luverne Trgers fought bravely but were frankly overpowered by a strong Opp team We went scoreless unt1l the last quarter when Marcus Rhodes playing defenstve back picked off an intended Opp lateral and dashed down the field before they knew what had happened B TEAM RECORD LUVERNE 14 ANDALUSIA 7 LUVERNE 19 RED LEVEL 7 LUVERNE 13 TROY 6 LUVERNE 26 GREENVILLE 13 LUVERNE 19.
