Almost all teachers are involved in extra- curricular activities in addition to teaching five or six classes a day. Only time will tell if they leorn to balance between studying ond celebrating. 49 Freshmen: Gerring rhe hang of ir! The freshmen year brings new challenges and opportunities. You're the big” boys and girls of the junior high and you finally get to participate in some of the senior high activities. There is the challenge of trying to figure out algebra and the sheer terror, for a lucky few, of the first time behind the wheel in driver's ed. All in all it is a pretty exciting yeor with more 1. They set their goals high and strived to accomplish them. Their biggest goal was to win the District 8 tour- nament. which they did. Their next accomplish- ment was taking the Region 2 crown. Induction into the Notionol Honor Society is one of the highest honors o student ot LHS con recieve. Membership in the Notion- ol Honor Society is bosed on four chorocteristics: leadership, service, scholarship, and character. Every junior and senior with a 3.0 grade point average is evaluated by the faculty on the basis of those four characteristics. 1. The junior class worked mony hours on making it o memorable event for the seniors. The evening started out with a ban- quet at the Blue Mound Inn, followed by the Grand March and Dance.
