Especially at LHS? I think everyone will agree that secretaries are an indis- pensible part of our school's operation. Who else would voice the announcements, give us passes or ring that all important 3:15 bell — not to mention the typing, filing and errand running. They've Got The Whole School In Their Hands 1. Supt Miller tends to his many daily tasks. 2 Mr Rath takes care of business on the phone. 3. Paper- work keeps Mr Horner at his desk. “You're Someone Special” was the theme put into action this year by the administration. Three of those special someone's” here at LHS are our very own Superintendent Norman Miller and Co-principals John Rath and Jim Harner. Supt. Miller, in his three years here at LHS, has met the challenges of, pairing with the Magnolia school district, Reaganomic cuts in spending, teacher salary negotiations, and a variety of policy-making decisions. Mr. Rath, our senior-high principal, has the responsibility of handling the discipline aspect of LHS. Attendance and scheduling of activities are tasks that also fall on the shoulders of Mr. Rath. Our junior-high is manned by Mr. Harner. He coordinates the curriculum for both junior and senior high. He also acts as a consultant and advisor to the teachers. 18
