Y seniors who played their last football for lutheran are, leit to right: dave mende, warren strasheirn, rzch harvey arl: ree-se, hank schfl, :uri Schneider, rich qucn, the 1956 football season was packed with excite- ment for both players and spectators. though our losses outnumbered our wins, we never lost our spirit, due to the unwavering confidence of coach oetting. the season was very successful from the standpoint of experience gained and ability on the part of the players to work together as a unit. our team was plagued by numerous injuries, but those who took the places of injured starters worked hard to earn their positions. steve klein, star end on lutheran's varsity, was honored by being elected all-conference end on the olympic league honor squad. because of the experience gained this year, lutheran is looking for a winning season next year.
