L l l , Mr, Darrel Kautz Department Head LANGUAGES The goal of the LHS language department is to introduce the student to the fundamentals ofa particular language through primary courses. The study of a language not only acquaints the student with the vocabulary and grammar of this language, but also with its cultural aspects. Advanced courses give further insight into the history and literature of the country. Most important of all is the fact that our language department provides a medium for understanding other countries and cultures. Both Latin and German are offered at LHS. BUSINESS Luther's business department trains students to live in a business world after high school. For girls who are not planning on going to college, courses like shorthand, transcription, and office practice give them vital experience for future jobs. Both girls and boys re- ceive business education through typing, general business and book- keeping. The business department enables graduates to enter a career in business with experience and knowledge.
