Debate Club 1122 2 Q IA: .C 'ir T 0 A Q1 1. ,If w 1 Q O The Debate Club this year was headed by the following officers: Don Gil- lespie, presidentg Herbert Floyd, vice-presidentg Glenn Goodyear, secretary- treasurer. The purpose of the Debate Club is to give interested students an op- portunity to debate current topics and to learn the proper techniques of debating To accomplish this purpose, regular judged debates were held throughout the year. Also the Lumberton Club participated in the Triangle Debates with Rock- ingham and Hamlet.

Library lub The Library Club is a service club whose aim is to make more available to students and teachers the books and mate- rials they need. Officers for this year are follows: Leon Ellis, presidentg Dianne Davis, vice-presi- dentg Glenda Freeman, secretaryg and Patsy Musselwhite, treasurer.

fournalism Club This year the Journalism Club has been pushed to the press by Rose Ann Shaw, editorg and Lauren and Lee McLean, co-assistant editors. The Journalism members have been quite busy pecking away at the typewriter keys. Every week their column, High-Life, High-Lites, has appeared in the Lumberton Post. Also several very interesting editions of the TREASURE CHEST, our school paper, have been published. A limited number of sophomores, juniors, and seniors compose this club.
