Poem The waves are splashing on the shore. Resignedly and obediently do they give of their strength For they seem to perceive their mission and merely seek fulfillment. Never do they hesitate to ponder their lot. A long journey has brought them to their destination And it is with courage and determination that they lash upon the sandy surf Late in the night their constant toil is heard. Storm and tempest fail to impede their action. Instead, they gain momentum with each new trial, Unwilling to let objects of circumstance suppress them. To ask them why is to question the song of a bird, the honey of bees, the light of the stars. Oh, how we might look at these multitudinous waves and see ourselvesg Individuals enveloped with stoic and invincible majestyg Individuals who have long traveled life's somber path but yet remain resilient, invulnerableg Individuals who never fret to give of their dearest possessions-- Youth, clearness of thought, ambition--to an indifferent worldg Individuals who never stop to ask why--instead press hungrily, Yearningly to greater heights and gloryg Individuals who keep their eyes heavenward, and humbly ask for courage and determinationg Individuals who fall prostrate at the Master's feet and give thanks, When their destination, at last, has been reached.
