For each month an interesting program was planned. Spme of these activities included a Valentine dance, an Easter egg hunt for needy children, an Honorable Senior month, and a Maid Sale. Through these pro- grams the Future Homemakers of America tried to improve their purposes of worthy home, community. and family membership.

The F.T.A. was headed this year by Peggy Ann Edens, presidentg Eleanor Hunter, vice presidentg Jane Monroe, secretaryg Beth Fowler, treasurer: Betty Baxley, chaplaing Mis. Underwood, advisor. The F.T.A. officers held a tea for the teachers before school started, and every- one seemed to enjoy this. Each member was assigned a teacher to help throughout the year.

,C fi Si 1671144 The Lumberton High School Band under the direction of Mr. Robert Crumpler has really been busy this year. They performed at most of the football games, marched in several parades, and repre- sented Lumberton during Band Day at the University of North Carolina The band has been represented by the following officers: Winnie Buchanan, Captain, Trina Pittman, senior representative, Mackie Mc- Intyre, junior representativeg Albert Stephenson, sophomore represent- ativeg Linda Atkinson, freshman representative, Johnny Farmer, junior high representativeg and Llewlee Livermore as recording secretary.
