Fire Up Loyola Fire Up, Loyola! This cry echoed through the halls of our uni- versity during the Fall semester as student leaders banned together to encourage participation in all facets of the school by students, faculty and administration. The purpose of this event was to banish apathy and lack of concern, things which can ruin student body spirit. ' k 20

Club Basketball Fourteen seasons have come and gone since we last saw the Wolfpack play for Loyola. In 1972, a feeling of indifference compelled school officials to drop athletics from the university and to re-em- phasize the academic atmosphere. However, for many, the devel- opment of the mind was not enough; the recent resurgence of school spirit has brought basket- ball back to Loyola --- at least on the club level. The first game of club basket- ball was played on October 30, 1986, at the Tulane arena. Over 1,100 fans were in attendance, the majority of whom were sporting the rarely seen school colors of maroon and gold. Students, facul- ty, alumni and staff cheered wild- ly as the Wolfpack defeated Tu- lane 69-61 in an exhilerating con- test. As the 15-man squad of Loyola ' s club basketball team will attest, the Wolfpack is back! The team is coached by Robert Reed and the Rev. Hacker J. Fagot, S.J.
