The graduation of Veterans and the Korean War caused the student body of Loyola College to de- crease substantially from the record enrollment of the immediate post-war years. The lack of a suffi- cient number of students applying for certain courses required a slight revision in curriculum re- sulting in the elimination of some of the courses. Many of the classes were noticeably smaller, while several of them became larger by combination of course sections. A system of alternation was devised whereby courses are offered on alternate yeeurs. In order to supplement this revision several changes in the faculty became necessary. Several new professors were added to the faculty and a few of the instructors adapted their erudition to a dif- ferent course from that which they had been teaching. Among the new professors are: Rev. Michael F. Maher, S. J., Instructor in Ethics; Mr. Edward V. Daubner, Instructor in Education; and Mr. A. Roland Gminder, Instruc- tor in Languages.
