While Loyola, the institution, strives for academic excellence, CAM emphasizes the dynamic aspects of Christian living, stressing the individual student's re- lation to Loyola, his community and his world. Above all, CAM is in no sense a rigid organization, but re- flects the myriad interests and de- sires of its members. These practical interests take shape in CAM co-ordinated community projects: Day out, Soup Kitchen, the Spastic Children's Foundation, Eng- lish as a second language, Camp David, Old Folks, and Jail Run all benefit from the volunteer service of Loyola. ,""f.z,, , 2 be If , 'tio :ia My ig -- A- - 'punts as . . Moreover, the Class of '80 is the first class to go undefeated for four years in the league's history, and capturing the Del Rey Crown for the third consecutive year. They have made Loyola one of the most feared football powerhouses in the Southland. ln retrospect, it was a year filled with many memories, including the camp week frolics, the pulverization of St. Francis i35-35, and the many friendships made on this 1979 football team. Front- Marc Schultz, Barry Aninag, Greg Knoll, Tyrone Johnson, David Sheffield. The end of this '79-'80 season marks the end of an era. Loyola will no longer hold its basketball games in the old gym. The plan is that next year's basketball season will open in the new gym. But even though everyone is look- ing forward to using the new facilities, fond memories of the old gym live on. Despite its faults-a leaky roof and closet-size locker rooms, it was a great gym. The Varsity team, though it had a losing record, worked hard and played aggressively. With many players returning to Var- sity next year, the team shows a great deal of promise. "We'lI get 'em next year." 85 ll V1-111. -4 .- 15 if -Pa.--,M. f - Q fn n 9 I 5 ...L 3 l Ng.
