mateurs Make Grand Performance The theater group at L.H.S. had a new variety of faces while doing the winter play. The Lark was done by Ms. Mary Scobey and Ms. Marilee Saxe. The play was written by .lean Anouilh and adapted by Lillian Hellman. The Lark deals with a young peasant girl Qplayed by Holley Halliburtonj who claims she was guided by voices to Charles, the Dauphin tplayed by Doug Mayj to lead him through victory over the English. The Lark begins by opening with Joan, who was on trial to decide her punishment for her crime',. The story was told with a series of flashbacks and ends with .Ioan deciding death was bet- ter than life imprisonment. The play proved to be a very technical show dealing with many lights, sound effects, and sets. Assisting Ms. Scobey with the directing was Steve Vroom. Jim Busby assisted Ms. Saxe with the technical directing, Between the four directors and the theater troupe even though some were new, the play came off as a complete success. Doug May and Lenny Kellogg rehearse a scene using their best acting ability John Berquist and Holley Haliburton worked many long hours on The Lark perfecting their acting skills. Rehearsinga meeting scene is the Archbishop of Reims and Joan.
