. BASKETBALL SUMMARY F 4 Reading from left to right. Front Row: Larry Brown, Willard Mason,Reggie Speak, Bob Stander, Bill Armburst. Back Row: Norman Hutchison,Tbm Waracka,Paul Addyman,Frances Ritter,Ralph Brown, Kenneth Urwin,Jack Addyman and Coach, Mr. Knight. Our season in Basketball detected many flaws in the Louisville High School Team. Although the majority of our games were lost this past year, much was learned through the experience gained by the play- ers. Our first string players were not accustomed to playing together previous to this year. Much of the loss of Louisville's games was due to the shortness of the players on the team. And other faults were due to illness and accidents causing a shortage of boys going out for basketball. Many accidents caused in football kept some of the boys out of basketball at the starting of the season. One of the outstanding stars on the basketball floor was Kenndb Urwin, measuring 6 feet and l inch. Kenneth was high point man in the djority of the games. He averaged 7 8flO points per game. Jack Addyman starting of the season at first string forward was latter in the season dropped to the B squad, but as the season pro- gressed Jack showing his ability to play basketball was advanced to the first string. Ralph Brown who played last year on the basketball team started there again this year. Ralph receiving an injury in basketball practice was not able to see action in all the games. Paul Addyman who received a dislocated shoulder in Louisville's last football game was also not able to play at the starting of the season due to his injury. Was able to make the team latter in the season. Norman Hutchison was the shortest man on the squad, his great ability to make free throws was shown through out the year. He was also the only sophomore on the first team. 'A Most of the boys which played on the first string this year will be playing together next year. Kenneth Urwin was the only man which willgraduate this year, and almost all the rest of the squad are under classmen. Next year Louisville willhave a experienced team in basket- ball as in football. Heres hoping for a much more successful season next year from the graduating seniors of '48-
