To create added interest in Latin is the purpose of Latin Club. Among the activities sponsored by this club are an initiation of new members at a Roman banquet, attending J. C. L. conventions, and joint meetings with other language clubs. Spanish Club was started this year to get the students to become more in- volved and enthusiastic about learning Spanish and its customs. Some of their projects for this year were a initiation party, caroling with the other language clubs and a banquet held this spring. Among their ac- tivities were a dinner along with the other language clubs, a dinner for the community enabling them to become better acquainted with the French cus- toms, going out to eat at French res- taurants, attending a play at C. U. , visitors to speak to the club, slides or France, and attending French films. All this was held to give the students more knowledge of the cultural as- pects of France. For the first time at L. H. S. this year, German Club was started. A- mong their plans were a dinner and caroling with the other language clubs Also they had planned a banquet this spring. 1,52 .

7.7. . F. T. A. is affiliated with a nation- al organization of future teachers whose purpose is to help better acquaint students with teaching as a career. One of the main activities is a pro- gram of Cadet teaching whose object is to give members actual experience in teaching. A spring dinner to en- able students to get acquainted with teachers in a social atmosphere, and a field trip to Colorado State College are among the activities sponsored this year. 7 1. 0. fs? For its members, Future Leaders of Business has special speakers from var- ious fields of business who relate use- ful information. This year as a civic project F. L. O. B. raised money tc send to an orphan child. ,S. Future Secretaries of America, sponsored by the national organiza- tion, prepares high school girls to go into secretarial work as a profession. The selection of Miss F. S. A. is the highlight of the year.

The object of Music Appreciation Club is to promote music throughout the school for a better understanding and interest. One activity the mem- bers participate in is performing in school. Their project this year was selling school spirit pens. The purpose of Science Club is to give the students interested in science an opportunity to learn more in this field of study than what they are ex- posed to in their classes. Field trips, guest speakers, and projects are among the activities sponsored by this club. This year the members visited NCAR, IBM, and spent a weekend at a nation- al park. ?.?,,-4, The purpose of Future Homemakers of America is to promote home eco- nomics in the school and in the home. Every year an international banquet is held with speakers from different coun tries. A project this year will be a Mexican dinner.
