Personality Profile Freshmen The blank stare of ignorant bliss is a dead giveaway to the typical freshman. At this point they still think they ' re on the senior trip. They ' re just letting go of Mom ' s apron strings with one hand while clutching desperately for Dad ' s checkbook with the other. The sum total of their course numbers rarely exceeds 5000, especially towards the end of the semester after they drop half of their classes. Many freshmen develop a loving relationship for English 1001 and 1002, while others go through the rigors of Books and Libraries only to find themselves lost in the stacks. Wardrobes undergo a surprising metamorphosis during the first semester when incom- ing freshmen become exposed to campus. Some take advantage of the new freedom of campus life (i.e., cutoffs, t-shirts and thongs), while others opt for the high starched look from various divisions of Todd Garland. Aubert. Personality Profiles ROTC Students Although the uniform is an obvious giveaway, these stalwart patriots are almost as easily recognized out of uniform in their civilian clothes (civies). From their regulation haircut and mirrored ray-bans down to their converse tennis shoes, they collectively salute baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chrysler. The true blue army brat has the least distinguishable accent (somewhat like NFL referees) as a result of having lived in every major city in the United States. They schedule the same courses that Dad took as a cadet back at Texas A M. The typical football weekend consists of standing guard in Tiger Stadium followed by retrieving one ' s date to go to a rousing bash thrown by a fellow vv Arnie . At least, if LSU is ever attacked by anyone we ' ll have a tough ROTC Militia to defend the campus.
