Showing extraordinary ability, Charles Johnson gave us inspiration through the magic of his art. An added attraction, Lindsey Mize was featured singing a selection from the box office hit Annie. TALENT SHOW Graphic males known as the Shama Lama Ding Dong unveiled their hidden knack by capturing an untamed audience Evident by his composure at the piano. Dan Moore is a man who really loves his music. Magic To Do was the theme of the 1982 talent show. This annual SGA spon- sored event always brings one of the lar- gest student audiences of any event on campus. Dean Craig Eller served as Ivlaster of Ceremonies, and Mrs. Martha Speed, Mrs. Edith Anderson and Mr. Tony Robin- son were the judges. The show was varied and colorful, re- vealing the range of talent and ingenuity of the Louisburg College students. James Kirby opened the show with a welcome song in many languages entitled Willkommen. (And we think anyone who can sing in many languages is defi- nitely magic.) Third prize was captured by a zangy 50 ' s group ny the name of Shama Lama Ding Dong. Sporting thin ties and baggy pants, these guys had the audience eat- ing right out of their hands. Sonia Galloway took first prize for her moving soprano rendition of the theme from Ice Castles. Second place went to the cheerleaders for their dance routine to Love Is In Con- trol. Linsey Mize, daughter of English pro- fessor Ray Mize, was a show-stealer. With her yellow curly wig and pronouned freck- les, she performed music from the musi- cal broadway hit Annie. Other participants were Charles John- son, Dan Moore, Lori Collins, Charia Creekmore, Lene Williams, Mary Nichols, and male group called the Lumber- jacks, and another male group perform- ing the Peter Gun Theme and On Broadway. 22 STUDENT LIFE
