what you did last night. The all-nighters do have their rewards; sleep never felt so good and the wonderful feeling to be able to say that It ' s finished. Many all-nighters are spent socializing (getting to know that friend from Psych class, sharing secrets with your roommate or just a group of friends getting together). Afternoons at Lou-U are a welcome time during the day. Everyone has their own special thing. To the sunwor- shippers, its tossing frisbees on the lawns in front of the dorms, or laying out in the sun. There is always an occa- sional skateboarder or lacrosse player. Others like to recuperate from the night before or rest-up for the up-coming one. Naps are sometimes a wel- come relief from the enveloping tensions of the life of a student. Escapism can be found in the soap operas. On many halls at three o ' clock everyone is huddled around the television interested in what is going to happen to Luke and Laura on General Hospital. At Lou-U it is evident that anything goes. Afternoons

Mfc A A is for Allnighters. Remember being up all night working on that important term project that you just started the day before that it was due? Of course, you should have started sooner. You promised yourself you wouldn ' t put it off like you usually do, but somehow you find yourself grimly facing another all-nighter. Since you ' ve done it before, you know what to expect. All the stages are familiar; you begin about eight with the confidence that you ' ll be through by four and get a couple of hours sleep, but it never seems to work out that way. Twelve to three are the hardest hours. Everybody else in the world is asleep. By dawn you feel like a walking zombie. As you walk in class that morning, everyone else can tell 4 All-nighters

B is for the Beasties . B Picture this: 7:30 in the morning a Lou-Uer stag- gers into the cafeteria wearing last night ' s T-shirt and baggy jeans. He makes his way over to the milk machine and gets himself a drink. Relief appears upon his face, and he slowly stumbles out the door with a look of satisfaction. Sound familiar? I guess that everyone gets the beasties every now and then (some more than others). Backgammon is a favorite indoor game of many people at Louisburg College. In the past couple of years it has gained in popularity with an amazing amount of speed. Beasties
