He Tound ThaT he was unable To loosen iT wiTh his only Tool, a pockeT kniTe, WiTh The permission oT The Hancocks, on whose properTy The discovery was made, he reTurned The nexT week, ac- companied by a Tew oT his sTudenTs, and uncovered This bone, The beginning of The exlensive coIlocTion oT his La Brea Tar piTs specimens now exhibiTed in The counTy museum. A special issue of lhe Blue and While Daily, lealuring arlicles aboul lhe alumni, was prepared lor lhe occasion. Several senior girls had charge ol a nursery in 249 for lhe children ol lhe alumni.
