iris, The aching Girls' Track Team triumphed. All members were enthusiastic about the past season. The talent came from all ranks. Dawn Turner. a running seniorg Alice Fabian, the jazzy juniorg Kathy McMillion. a super sophomoreg and Debbie Cox, a fleeting freshman, led the team through the season. Returning to the world of running was Karen Thomas. CIF champ in hurdles as a sophomore. Kristi Griffis in 220. and Evelyn Drummond who also participated in CIF competition. Coach Gomez believed in the girls, ability to go on to the championships. The true battle was against Ontario Christian. At the present, the team is off and running. 1 -H---U-1 .. 'X ' as 1. The catching, hitting, base stealing, home running Girls' Soft- ball team looks forward to a good season. Some young talent has appeared from the freshmen ranks including Gina Holm- strom and Sandy Sundberg. The remainder of the team is veter- ans returning to conquer. The team members are enthusiastic about the approaching season they are encouraging one another on to victory. High above the rest is Kathy Martinson, pitcher. Down to earth is Sheryl Phillips, catcher. Constantly running around is Lorna Rothlisberger, shortstop. The coaches Miss Cindy Noblitt and Miss Sue Newcomb, hope to be in the play- offs and placing at least third in league. They are ready, willing, and able to win. 1.
