Junior Var ily D. The 1979-80 IV Baseball team had yet another impressive season. The team had a reputation to keep up that was sup- plied by the three previous Iunior Varsity teams. After three straight league championships. Coach Phill Iennings had his work cut out for him. Of the thirty players trying out, Bill Days and Coach Iennings could pick only sixteen of the most talented to represent our school. john Oatey and Chuck Heskett highlighted the pitching skills and any rare ball hit to the outfield was quickly inhaled by Ioe Koh, Ion Scott, or Dave Brown. The shortstop position was mastered brillantly by Rod Shackelford who contributed much more than could have been expected of him. Pete Cerlach provided both offensive and defensive strength. Both at the plate with a bat and on second base with a glove, Cerlach showed his talent. Var i ty ..., . ..... W... . ww For Varsity Track the future has come. Past years there was talk of an Olympic League Championship. The Future has Come. With premier Competitors, this is the year. In the high jump Cory Eells who is assured of clearing six feet, is a valuable asset. With 440 relay team of Scott Ardavanis, Dave Rozar, Iim Caddie and Mark Goens this relay team will set the track afire. Having Chris Monroe at the 880 there is no reason who we cannot take league. The field events are as strong as any team in the past. Coached by Ioe Gomez, he himself is excited about this team and is willing to add another Olympic League Championship to his list of others. 1. Dave Rozar and Scott Ardavanis show their perfect execution that wins the relay. 2. Mike Domke clears the height. 3. Scott attempts for the winning distance. 72 X VARSITY TRACK
