C.S.F. . The California Scholarship Federation or more appropriately, the Curve Steepening Folk, is a club here at L.A. Baptist of students who have a grade point average of 3.4 or better. Besides several meetings, throughout the year, the club members go to C.S.F. night at Disneyland and tutor their fellow classmen. The group is led by our own beloved Dr. Mears. 1. C.S.F.: There's times when you'd swear they were dedicated to lowering your grade by raising the curve, 2. Marc Schneider pondering an eminent victory. 3. The mighty Mangnatollah realizes and uses his power. 4. Ka Ming Li - The Thrill of vic- tory. Chess Club ln these dark times, there lies a moral obligation upon the rational in society to wage a crusade against ignorance. Such is the purpose and mission of the noble chess club. In the desert of irrationality it remains an oasis of logic and reason. Those that suffer mental stagnation come and are enlightened with a new awareness. Student A ssembbf Another year of student assembly is now history. For nine months, Kari Kuenn1ASB Vice President1 and stu- dent representatives, elected by their class members, have met weekly to examine complaints and questions of the student body. Members included Betsy Klein 191, Stefani Leto1101, Kevin King 1111, and Iohn Buon-Cris- tiani 1121. 1979-'80 was the year of new clubs. So many were proposed by students that some excellent clubs did not become official for lack ofa spon- sor or another reason. Clubs provide a way of people with similar interests to get together and have fun. 1980 was the year of new clubs. The pep club sitting l together at games and leading the school in spirit with Mrs. -. - A W ..- ,i-4-- Budd their advisor. The rac- T quetball club is also very new. students had a lot of fun play- ing after school and on Satur- days. The Literary Guild claims EMM? Q one charter member Marnee V Hall, and two advisors Mr. l-lild and Mrs. Seccombe. The French club was a great suc- cess. They met at lunch in the conference room on Tuesdays. Some of their activities were reading Le Petit Prince and eat- ing French food such as Gateau Breton with their advisor Mrs. Stephenson. The last but not least is the Serendipity Art club with Mr. Glover as advisor.
