There were many and var- ied classes offered from auto to welding. In connection with many of the classes there was also on-the- job training such as banking, dental and many more. R.O.P. not onlypro- vided job training, but also enabled students to earn high school credits while they were learning a skill. R.O.P. students Mary Ann Antencio and Brenda Huismans perform duties. The big hits were 'Tast Times at Rid- gemont High , 'Best Friends , 'Rocky III , 'Six Weeks, 'Tirst Blood , H48 Hours , and 'T-7oltergeist . Other movies that had captive audiences included The Verdict with Paul Newman, Gandhi , Tootsie with Dustin Hoffman playing a woman, 'Yin Officer and a Gentleman and 'f.'.'1f , the extra-terrestrial that made motion picture history at the box office. Disappointments included The Toy and The Dark 'C'rysta1 . This was a work -study pro- gram that placed a student in a job and enabled the student to gain on-the-job experience, while at the same time earn va- lueable credits and money.
