Ed Arnold Hosts Jr. Miss Debbie Goldade Melinda Melcher Colette Schneider Brenda Bohannan This year seven L.A. senior girls competed in the Fountain Valley Junior Miss Pageant. They were Sue Schirmer, Angie Flores, Lynette Stotts, Debbie Goldade, Brenda Bohannan, Collette Schneider, and Melin- da Melcher. They were judged in creative and performing arts, academic achievement, poise and appearance, physical fitness, and a judges' interview. Goldade won the award for aca- demic achievement and the most tickets sold, Schneider won the award for poise and ap- pearance, and Melcher won the award for physical fitness. After rehearsing for many hours, the night ended with Melcher taking second runner- up, Goldade taking first run- ner-up and Sue Schirmer being crowned Fountain Valley's Ju- nior Miss for l982-83. ,, figs.. Christmas Spirit Spreads At L.A. Dec. l 7 was the day Santa arrived with a yelling ovation at the Christmas assembly. He entered on the janitor? electric cart dri- ven by Activities Director Bill Brady. Santa was authentically portrayed by drama in- structor George Taylorson. The drill team performed a routine to 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town , and the Concert Choir sang their animated tradi- tional song, 'T'ruitcalre. A group of kinder- garten students from Northcutt Elemen- tary School were guests at the assembly to tall: to Santa. A few ASB cabinet girls dressed as elves, passed out candy canes to the lxids and threw out candy to the audi- ence. Each class president placed an orna- ment on the Christmas tree representing his year. Near the end of the assembly, everybody joined in to sing Christmas carols. When it came time to leave, the crowd was overjoyed with excitement at the thought of a two weelr vacation! Chris Marino And Cherise On the night of December 10, 1982, Lobos were attending the annual King and Queen of Courts dance. The candidates were seniors Chris Marino and Krista Lang, juniors Sergio O'Cadiz and Michelle Stevenson, sopho- mores Sean Erenstoft and Krisi Staub, freshmen John Kuzmic and Cherise Gal- lagher.
