Varsity Soccer Struggles To The Los Amigos varsity soccer team started its pre-season play very impressively. The competition got tougher nevertheless, and the team did manage to tie many of their games in league. However, the season was cut short due to the numerous prob- lems that arose. Kkkk ' 4 f, i ik siii Keith Coffman Steve Hutson - f gig? We're a young team with five re- turning players, stated Coach Gene Sutherland of the 1 983 boys' varsity basketball team. This year's five starting players were Mark Pom peo, Frank Simpson, Scott McMullan, Steve Struckmeyer, and Steve Hut- son. Keith Coffman, Cleveland Jones, Robert Loomans, Shawn Shourds, Andy Tarango, and Tim Meagher also contributed to the success of the team. The varsity bas- ketball team had a record of 4-8 in non-league and 6-4 in league. They placed third in league.
