They were the most outstanding and together team I have ever been associated with, stated Coach Auxier. The 1982 :LY football team had an undefeated season record and were league champs. They were extremely talented, scoring 31 3 points and allowing only 60 points. Every team member contributed to the success of the team commented Coach Auxier. They were also well disciplined, having only five ma- jor 15-yard, and six minor 5-yard penalties. This :LY team was the first football team to go undefeated in the history of Los Amigos High! For the past seven consecutive years, the Lobos have dominated the Garden Grove League in waterpolo by earning first place, this year being undefeated. For the first time in Los Amigos history the team fought their way to compete in the 2A CIF' Finals at Belmont Shore in Long Beach. 'Ifhey worked hard in the first round of CH' and defeated Los Altos. In the second round the team proved that they had confidence by defeating La Serna. In the quarter finals at Santa Ana Col- lege, the Lobos kept their momentum with a victory over San Marino. Then the team was faced with La Puente in the semifinals. It was a tough battle but the players dis- played their determination by advancing to the finals. It was then the team discov- ered that hard practices sure paid off after all. In the final CH' game, the team put up a strong fight but lost to Servite with a score of 6-l 3. The players were given individual awards at the banquet on Dec. 7 th. Most Valuable Player Award was given to John Patten: Captains Awards went to Dave Cook and Mike Stanbridgey Most Dedicated Player was Tim Deshong: and Most Improved Player was George Perez. l 44 Varsity Waterpolo .aw Mike Stanbridge sure looks like heb ready for anything. Dave Cook desperately searches for teammate.
