114 Faculty VWns In Sudden Death, 34-3 Come on, walk like this. . . On March 7, 1983, in the Los Amigos gym, the faculty mem- bers, lead by Dave Auxier and John Keating, took a surprising lead in the first half of the donkey basket ball game. Captain Keat- ing, with only two seconds on the clock, shot a basket from the cen- ter of the key. This shot gave the faculty a l4 point lead at half time over the varsity students, who were lead by Andy Tarango and Dave Olson. This made the score l 4-28. In the second half of the game, the faculty and the students ex- changed donkeys. Possibly due to the change of courts and donkeys, the varsity team made an unex- pected comeback. The students were more in control in the sec- ond half than the faculty. The tough defense of the varsi ty students made it look like the fac- ulty members were giving the ball away, as many of the faculty passes were intercepted by the varsity students. At the end of the second half, the score was 32 to 32, sending the game into over- time. Coach Mike Anderson shot the last shot that won the game for the faculty. The main reason the donkey basketball game was held was to raise money for sport equipment. , 3 I M i ke.-4. M. W M., V gg Dave Olson and his faithful donkey. Q dl 9 M3 What?
