There are approximately l 50 Vietnam- ese students on campus, and at least l 00 were active in the Vietnamese club. The club has been very busy throughout the year, starting off with a Christmas party, which included exchanging gifts and dancing. The Tet, Vietnamese New Year, was celebrated on Feb. 16, and a giant show was held at Santa Ana Valley High School. It was like a big Vietnamese tal- ent show. Los Amigos had two partici- pants in the show, just as several other high schools from Orange County. The Vietnamese club also participated in Open House, with a parasol dance, which is used to celebrate spring. They raised money by selling egg rolls and fried shrimp chips during the pot luclr dinner. One of their social events was held in the commons. It was a spring school dance, for Vietnamese, with pop and rock music. The first song of every Vietnamese dance is to honor the adults present, with a slow song of their time. l l 2 Vietnamese Club Far left: President Thong Tran.
