The 1960 Los Altos Freshman baseball team end- ed its season with a record of four wins, four losses, and one tie. Their record books look even better when it is noted that their losses were to such larger schools as Covina, West Covina, and Rosemead - schools which in- cluded all their freshmen on the frosh teams. Due to the small size of our school, this year a number of freshmen were moved up to compete for the varsity and iunior varsity team positions, consequently, the LA frosh played without the services of a number of their classmates who would otherwise have been available. Even so, the four victories were highlighted by a pair of wins over the crosstown big brother, La Puente, by scores of 15-14 and 9-7, and a 12-O victory over CI fine Rosemead nine. The team was led at the plate early in the year by infielder Bob Bond and later by first baseman Mike Graham. Outfielder Paul Ross was a consistent hitter throughout the year. If the boys continue to im- prove as they did this year, they should make an outstanding contribution to our senior teams.
