SCll1NCl1 l1PARTlVlENT l 3 5 Amid the clutter of the lecture room desk Mr. Cotton demonstrates some of the characteristics of the air we breathe. How does it work? Why does it happen? Why are things as they are? These are the first questions which prompted man to start on his study of science. These questions still remain to this day to cause many a person to take up the study of science. Nowadays we have found some answers, and it is the duty of the science department of Lorain High School to make these available to the growing mind. Needless to say, such basic knowledge of the nature of things is profttable to all, even if they do not choose this field as their lives' work. JAMES F. ATEN CHARLES W. Due to the basic nature ot mathematics, which leaves no room tor error, one is forced to proceed in an intelligently planned manner in order to get results.
