Donald C Davis Tony Lakatos E. A. Monegan Henry Przchocki Industrial Arts Department Lorain High School has an extensive and comprehensive Industrial Arts Program. Six teachers instruct the student in the various phases of this program. Specializa- tion in some phases of this program prepare its graduates for apprenticeships in heavy industry and in machine shops. In general, the industrial Arts student is ac- quainted with almost all types of machinery that is used in a machine shop. The student also learns shop safety procedures, and more important, how to work with others. After successfully completing the industrial Arts Program, the graduate stu- dent is usually able to obtain a iob that corresponds directly with the particular field in which he has specialized. Hummel Drivers Training The purpose ofthe Driver Training classes of Lorain High School is to teach the new driver the procedures of driving and to give him the opportunity to drive. ln ad- dition to the actual driving, the student also becomes accustomed to the fundamen- tals concerning the parts of the car. in charge of the Driver Training classes are Mr. Bangas, Mr. Hummel, and Mr. Meyers. 21
