Through Advanced Writing, the students will become more proficient in the funda- mentals of writing, Proiects of the stu- dents include composing short themes ana later, longer stories. A research paper introduces the students to the library and prepares them for col- legiate study methods. This course is elective and prepares seniors to undertake the challenge of Freshmen English in the the halls of higher learning. English A sophomore English class shown here RIGHT begins high school English with Miss Frisbie. During the course of the year they study short stories, the basic rules of grammar, and Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. Later in the semester, they compose paragraphs and short themes. Sophomore English is the step- ping stone to a better and more skillful use of the English language. i
