PEOPLE WHO IN 42-A 'LI pledge myself to uphold the high purf poses of this society to which I have been elected, striving in every way, by word and deed, to make its ideals the ideals of my school and of my life. To be a candidate for membership in the National Honor Society, a student must rank in the upper third of his class in schof larship. Teachers who are familiar with the candidates grade them in leadership and character. Their high school service is an im' portant factor. Those who have the highest composite score automatically become eligif ble to take the National Honor Society pledge, printed above. From the members ranking highest in scholarship, leadership, character, and ser' vice in each graduating class, the faculty may name as many as fifteen per cent for induction into the society.
