ffo tlze Class of 1940 C ORE truly than you can realize now, graduation from high school brings you to the threshold of a new phase of your lives. The close dependence upon parents, in matters of thought and ideals and activities, which has characterized your lives up to the present is ending now for most of you, and independence lies ahead. We trust that you will enter this new period, eager to meet its trials and problems as well as its freedom and opportunities. May you not be touched by the defeatist philosophy which says that real opportunity is dead for your generation. This is not true. We rejoice with you upon the at- tainment of this goal, and we earnestly wish for each of you a future rich in blessings and happiness and occasions for Worthy service to humanity. DR. W. J. WHITE DALE WILLIAMSON FLETCHER E. BROWN fffwwvx CHE Longmont High School is Q1 directed by a group of ef- ficient men and women. Although they often remain in the back- ground, they play a very important part in our school. They determine how things shall be directed, they make decisions and keep the wheels turning smoothly. We offer our appreciation and thanks to the School Board for a successful year. We hope that they will be proud of its result-the 1940 graduating class. C135 MRS. GLADYS REEDER JOHN HARTMAN
