BADGLEY B.S., Seton Hall University M.Ed., Rutgers University ENGLISH The English Department, directed by Mrs. Ada Smith, stressed the fundamental aspects of communication, reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Sophomore students received experience and background in the novel and worked with reading comprehension. During the junior year, emphasis was placed on grammar and American literature. Seniors read plays, essays, and excerpts from stories by world authors. Composition work was included in all levels of English. A special English course, Comparative Communications, stressed the different aspects of the mass media, such as radio, television, motion pictures, and newspaper. MISS ROSEMARY G.
