SPECIAL PERSONNEL MR. WILLIAM T. KARRBERG Attendance Officer The extra services that Special Personnel provided were essential to the smooth functioning of our school. Mrs. Ruth Smith, the school nurse, gave medical attention during the day. She maintained the medical records and assisted with vision, hearing, dental, and T.B. tests. Mr. Francis Sorrentino directed the special education class. Mr. David A. Rogosky spent his first year at Long Branch High School as the instructional materials coordinator. He kept teachers supplied with all necessary audiovisual materials. Mr. William Karrberg, the attendance officer, kept close tabs on students both in and out of school. LIBRARY This year the library moved to the new location. Covering approximately 7,200 square feet of space, the library housed almost 15,000 volumes and could accommodate more than 125 students. GUIDANCE MISS THEODORA APOSTOLACUS, Director of Guidance B.S., Trenton State College M.A., Teacher's College, Columbia University MRS. JANE TONZOLA Secretary The Guidance Department was concerned with assisting students in any way possible, especially in making intelligent preparation for the future. Underclassmen were aided in their choice of next year's courses, while seniors received help with vocational and college plans. Throughout the year the department, headed by Miss Theodora Apostolacus, held many career and college conferences for the benefit of students. This year the annual College Night, an activity offered to all Monmouth County students, was presented at Long Branch High School. At the start of school in September, the guidance counselors returned to new offices located in the relocated guidance area. New to the department is the secretary, Mrs. Jane Tonzola. MR. WAYNE M.
