Loma Linda is five miles from San Bernardino. nine miles from Riverside and five miles from Redlands. Bus service connecfs Loma Linda wifh fhese fowns. BUILDINGS Loma Linda Union Academy has five well- planned buildings, fwo for fhe grade school of four rooms each, one for fhe academy con- sisfing of a large new library, a new chapel, 6 large new classrooms, new and larger office quarfers, new and larger commercial facilifies, feachers' offices, music sfudios, healfh room, and sfudenf body office, a new school cafe- feria, and a new shop building. The academy is new and is prepared fo accommodafe a larger enrollmenf wifh efficiency and comforf. The science deparfmenf is fully equipped fo do efficienf work. The woodwork shop is equipped wifh a power saw, band saw, shaper, grinder, fhree lafhes, and a variefy of hand fools. A well-equipped mechanics shop is a new addifion fo fhe vocafional deparfmenf. The deparfmenf has a mefail furning Iafhe, a mefal shaper, forge and anvil, elecfric welder, oxy-acefylene welder and a variefy of hand fools. PURPOSE Loma Linda Union Academy provides a Chrisfian educafion for fhe young people of 'rhe vicinify and ofhers who may come info our midsf. A fhree-fold purpose is given for our exisfence: fhaf of preparing our youfh for service in fhis life, fo carry fhe gospel fo fhe world in fhis generafion, and fo form char- acfers for fhe life fo come.
