Senior Class Officers John Hunsaker-------------------------------------- V. President Tom Price Jolene Gastin ---------------------------------------- Treasurer Patty Steele President Secretary In 1943, the members of the class of 1955 began their education in the elementary school. While there, they formed friendships and learned the fundamentals of the three R's. At the end of six years they left the grade school to enter Junior High. There they made new friends and became acquaint- ed with new subjects. For the first time awards of merit were made to members of the class. Martha Elberfeld and Peter Yaw were presented history awards. Upon entering the Freshman year the members felt quite grown up, for under the direction of Wayne Hamrick, the first class officers were elected: president, Roger Bray,- vice-president, Peggy Cummins; secretary, Jolene Gastin; treasurer, Don Goss. Here the class had its first taste of social activity. Teentimers was organized. The highlight of this organization's activities was the Freshman Dance. This year the D.A.R. citizenship awards were presented to Peggy Cummins and Tom Price Entering senior high school as sophomores was the next big step. 9 Although classified as underclassmen, the members were able to attend all the social affairs. This year the officers were: president. Bill Juergensmeier; vice-president, Tom Price,- secretary, Patty Steele,- and treasurer, Ruth Lott. The next year, the junior year, was the busiest year. Through money obtained from a turkey raffle, sale of Christmas cards, and the annual junior movie, the class was able to sponsor a very successful prom and banquet. The officers this year were: president. Bill Juergensmeier,- vice- president, Bob Ranier; secretary, Don Goss, and treasurer, Patty Steele. After eleven years of study, the class members have accomplished one of their many goals, that of becoming seniors. Senior Class officers were: president, Tom Price,- vice-president, John Hunsaker,- secretary, Patty Steele,- and treasurer, Jolene Gastin. The class selected the white carnation as the class flower, lavender and white as the class colors, and Give the world the best you have and the best will come back to you, as the motto.
