fffh M ess ff Uhr Eagan Glnuntg High Srhnnl aah war mark l'he Logan County Hugh School has always been on the fmng lme ln all school actrvrtres ln the state and she has not lowered her good record ln the least by shlrlung any of the war work whlch necessarily falls on us all Let us take a revrew of the work this school has done and then grve three cheers for old L C H 5 About a month before school was released last May permlsslon was glven those who deslred to leave school to work on the farms wlthout losnng their credits Many availed themselves of thls opportumty to help their commumty and country We are at present going to school on Saturday so that school will be out the last of Aprll thereby allowlng the farmers to secure sulhcrent help ln the Red Cross campargn whrch ended last Christmas Eve the students con tributed over SIOU to the Red Cross Each student was asked to give ten cents many gave their dime and some more and many paid a dollar whlch entitled them to regular membershlp Before the Red Cross campaign and followmg a tallc rn chapel by one of their rep resentattves most of the boys and some of the teachers pledged themselves to grve S550 to the Y M L A fund ln proportnon to the srze of the school thus contribution was above the average of the amounts pledged by other schools Largely through the and of the Domestrc Scrence Department I30 pillows were made for the Red Cross a large Job when you consnder only l00 pnllows were aaugned the Sterlmg Chapter of Red Cross lhe Sophomore class has S50 worth of War Savrngs Stamps to nts crednt Each one of the fave hrstory classes ln the school bought a S50 Liberty Bond Every student rn the class pard a certam amount The gurls, under the supervlsron of Mass Lowe. have organized a kmttmg club -.- And they've lcnltted. and they've knitted Trll two socks they each complete. For without them, our Soldier boys Would surely get cold feet And, the erghth wonder of the world, the boys' lcmttmg club Headed by Mr Knowles, the boys all started to knlt, and made many sax mch squares which the Red Cross will make unto blankets H231 WW!!
