Purchase of a Heidelberg offset press by the printer cut production time in half. The “Flame” room was rebuilt in the former custodians’ shop and was supplemented by an air conditioner purchased from the “Flame” and “Tokay” budget. NSPA awarded the Flame” an All- American rating for the fourth time in six semesters. Stressing vocal technique and its application to vocal literature was emphasized by the a cappclla choir under the supervision of Mr. Wylie Moffatt, new director this year. Ten Christmas concerts for service clubs. Davis school, and Woodbridgc and Morada senior elementary classes high- lighted the year for the choir, along with the second annual Christmas performance for LHS. A spring concert for the commu- nity again added to the year’s schedule. The Madrigal Singers, a select group of 20 students from the choir itself which was formed during the year, occasionally per- formed at the choir’s regular concerts. A CAPPCLLA officers right as they ascended the Music Building stairway were Joe Garcia, vice- president; Sue Berg, secretary; and Fred Hcbcrlc. president. ORGANIZING the curriculum and executing the duties of a choir governing board below were section leaders Audrey Miller, Beth Travis, Steve Potratz. Jo Baumbach, Dave Loughead.
