Future secretaries are well frained y ith-r-e three, gay-r-oo-p group. These are familiar sounds to Miss Virginia Randall, BS., and ' X her shorthand class of twenty-two future stenog- raphers. In the business office she keeps books, answers telephones and accepts tuition. In her leisure moments she likes to relax in her favorite overstuffed chair and read an enjoyable book. We shall always remember her good- natured and sweet personality. Standing at the blackboard, Miss Randall writes shorthand characters, as she takes her class through a general routine drill. The Cafeteria and Laundry are indispensable Pies are Miss Elizabeth Eitel's specialty but these home-made pies do not last long at Lodi Academy. On this particular day, she tempted the students with her delicious pumpkin delights. Miss Eitel has been in cafeteria work for thirteen years, four of them here at Lodi. Among her hobbies are reading, cooking, and traveling by plane. Last summer Miss Eitel attended a food directors' workshop at La Sierra College. For five weeks the group studied diets and ways of preparing new, tasty dishes. ,Af 5' l 31-, ' in lf? V ,LJ :if Ffa f' -,.,.M,,,,.,.,.,,,,,,g,,, Laughter and gaiety reign as the workers sing, talk or ioin in on a good chuckle. Washing, ironing, folding and putting away become as easy as if they had done it for years. Besides being laundry superin- tendent, Mrs. Mary Walther is assist- ant matron in the cafeteria. She gets the school laundry finished on Thursday by working mornings. Afternoons are spent in the kitchen. She has been at Lodi Academy four years, and loves it very much.

Librarian's duties are many A would-be traveler in our midst is Miss Grace Morel. She is not particular where she goes so long as there is scenery. But this dream is hard to fulfill because of her busy schedule. She received her AB, from Pacific Union Col- lege and went on to the University of Southern California for the MS. in Library Science, Miss Morel is the pleasant and faithful librarian. Having been here for eight years, she has per- fected our library so that we novv enioy excellent library service and her student assistants are al- ways ready to find information for research proiects.
