The Lady Panthers started off their volleyball season very unsure of themselves. They lost three seniors last spring. They also lost some height, strength, and confidence. Changes took place as the season went onward, and they slowly but surely built their confidence. They placed 2nd in the Bridgeport tournament, 3rd in the Potter tournament and 3rd at MAC. Soon sub-districts rolled around. It was going to be tough and the girls knew that if they wanted to continue the tradition of that trip East, they’d have to play top-notch ball. They had to play Potter first. They had met twice, each winning one game. But the Panthers had their dream and pulled into the final round. They were up against Dix. They had met twice before, also, but with Dix always finishing on top. It seemed it would happen again, but Lodgepole still had their dream and this time, came out on top. They had one game to go before they could head east - and it would be a tough one. This time, the dream fell through and the Lady Panthers ended their season with a record of 13-8 after a disappointing loss to Lewellen. Melissa Farmer, Anita Mitchell, and Angel Sharman were picked as All-Conference. Anita and Angel were Co-Captains. Losing only one senior, the Panthers will have basically the same team in which to try to recapture their dream and again uphold the tradition.
