LAURA VOSIKA: Laura left school; she wanted to wed, but she decided on something else instead. J’m such a great driver; I think I can teach driver's ed to every woman and man. I’ll teach how to fix those spark plugs, how to change a tire, how to get out the bugs. I'll teach map reading and how to adjust to driving in Denver without any fuss. Laura’s school became known as a place to find, how to drive and stay between the yellow lines. One day a call from Hollywood came, the Fall Guy heart of her name and her fame. Would she drive a stunt car and do some tricks? Laura said, Sure, I will. I want out of the sticks, so her driving's seen now on Saturday nights. She's the Fall Guy's stunt driver and she does all right!!!!!!!!!! RON HEUCK: Ron Heuck wants to be an Alco Store man; he wanted a store as fast as he can. He started out—he really did well. The manager said, I've got a job with a bell. I need a blue-light specialist, a person who might run through the store from light to light. The blue light comes on and when its flashing, all those women come, really dashing. You can manage the sales when the light is blue, and all those women come rushing up to you. All of our bargains will go through your hands; those women will think they’ve reached the promised land. We’ve specials on clothes and dish towels and more; the blue light specials are great in this store. We put in items on sale for a time, and Ron can take in the money and see everything fine. Now Ron's famous from coast to coast. As the blue light specialist—he’s really the most ... LISA BRUNS: Pat Sajak announced to one and all, Vanna White is retiring early this fall. I need a beautiful young lady to take her place; I need someone beautiful—with an exceptional face. Someone who wears clothes beautifully too; who can turn those letters into view. Well, I'm interviewing in Denver early next week. Lisa Bruns heard him and said, I'll seek that job. I'd love to be on Wheel of Fortune, maybe then they’ll give me my portion of people and money and all that goes with being a star on a TV show. So Lisa was off to Hollywood, Cal., where she's done real well as a TV gal. She's been on DALLAS, DYNASTY, and FALCON CREST, and Lodgepole's proud of Lisa, the TV's best ... CRYSTAL CHRISTENSEN: Crystal went to Doane to study special ed; it sure didn't take Crystal long to get ahead. The Dean at Doane said, Crystal, why don't you represent Doane at a conference or two? We've one in Singapore and one in Berlin; Crystal said I’d love to—How do I get in? fust be yourself and while all the world hears, give a message of peace and hope and good cheer. Carry our message of peace to everyone, for all the children of the world under the sun. So Crystal started to bring good will all over the world I've heard tell. Now she is ambassador at the United Nations, representing the U.S. in foreign relations. We’re proud of Crystal, proud of her success; in a very tough job we wish her the best ... JOHN DEAL: I hear a new Elvis has appeared on the scene, I mean he's into a beat that's really keen. He’s electrifying and bad and wonderfully cool; just to think he came from Lodgepole School. Our John Deal is touring with his own band, hitting all the big spots throughout the land. From San Francisco to New York he's really a hit, he writes his own tunes—every single bit. His records are selling for lots of big bucks, and we sure wish him lots of luck ... KRISSY BARTLING: I remember Krissy B., don't you? She was tall and beautiful and good at sports too. She went to Nebraska Western after she graduated; she did marvelously well—she was often fated. She entered a beauty pageant and she won first prize, Miss Panhandle Nebraska, as you might surmise. She went on to Atlantic City and then on the stage; she won and she was the first Miss Nebraska to be all the rage. She won and she was Miss America and proud of the name; she made her walk and went out to great fame. Scholarships, cars, presents, wardrobes and all; Miss America loved them all—you may recall. She went on to TV fame—for when Jane Pauly of Today retired, our Krissy found it really pays. So she's on the TV every morning helping us know what's happened as another day's dawning ... JERRY CAMPBELL: 'Twa s a mid summers eve with lots of stars. Mr. Epling said, Class, let's go see Mars. It should be above the horizon right in view. It’s red and it's big and it shines right on you. Suddenly out of the east came dashing, a star ship with its lights all flashing. It's headed this way—oh me, oh my, that star ship's coming down on Lodgepole High. See on the side — make out the name, why it’s the Lodgepolian of very great fame. The captain’s Jerry Campbell—we remember that lad; he was from out north—he's made us glad, look the door is opening and who is coming out. Why it’s Jerry and his crew without a doubt. Hi, Mr. Epling, Jerry said, Do you like my starship I'm really the head, when I left Lodgepole School I wanted my wings. In the Air Force I learned all kinds of things. I studied hard and learned how to fly—I wanted to find out what happened to our class if they're out and about. I know that some of them stuck around and tonight we’re planning to see who can be found. We'll have steaks and trimmings and we will fix a bang up feast for the class of '86. Now the party's over and what a blast, to see those kids of '86—what has passed. To see how they've done so well, we’re really proud. Jerry, thank you for dropping by from your space ship so high in the sky. 10 THE END

Senior Class Prophecy of 1986 It's been ten long years, said Amy with a sigh. “My, oh my, how the years do fly. What's happened, Crystal? What’s been done with the class of '86 who had all that fun? Remember in '86 that wonderful spring; it was warm and sunny and full of things. We went on sneak—we went to Lincoln twice; my, those memories of state are really nice. Music contests and Drama too—we tried it all, and we really had a ball. Oh, we studied and did our assignments well; some of us did—the others wouldn’t tell. But what's happened to those kids in our class? What happened as all that time passed? AMY FROM: I know about Amy—she went to Kearny State, but then what happened? What’s been her fate? She got a Volleyball scholarship and went on to play in the final four of the U.S. of A. Kearney's team was tremendous and Amy was too, she set and set and her team came through. They won it all in one glorious set, but what happened later—I do forget. Amy wasn’t quite ready to settle down so she was hired as Volleyball coach in Scottsbluff town. Well, would you believe she went to a rodeo and married the clown 'cause she loved him so. It’s summer now and she and her clown go from rodeos to fairs in many towns. They love the life; it pays super good and they have prospered as good folks should ... STUART FRAASS: Crystal said, there's my cousin, Stu, what on earth did he reallly do? He went to Laramie to Wyoming U; he wanted to be a banker, one of a few. He wanted big bucks no small kind of job; he wanted a six figure salary—he wanted a gob. He did very well at Wyo. U, got a B.A. and his Masters too. The banks at Cheyenne—the First Interstate said, Stuart Fraass, to you we really relate. Come join our group and help make loans, money for farms and cars and homes. So Stuart started in at First Interstate and proposed to his secretary on the very first date. So now he's dressed and oh so smart, but we know it was Lodgepole where he got his first start ... KIM VALLA: One stormy night the phone rang late; oh, who’s that calling now? Kim, did you have a date? Kim answered and a stealthy voice said, Do you have a gray raincoat and some soft soled shoes? Are you into spying; are you a sneaky slueth? Will you help us catch a spy who's on the loose? We saw him down by the Last Chance Bar; we really don't see how he can go far. Put on your raincoat and your soft soled shoes and sneak on down there before he moves. So Kim snuck out of the house and went to look; for a spy in Lodgepole must be a crook. She cornered him near the football field; he said, “I knew I was a goner when I saw your shield. For Kim's a lady G-Man of very great fame, for catching crooks is the name of her game ... JULIE BOND: I hear that Julie and Tim are living out north, and Julie's driving back and forth. Tim's done real well as a farmer man, and Julie's helped him all she can. But Julie decided she wanted more work; she never was one who wished to shirk, so they bought the Hungry House. You should see it now, with two gold arches—really wow. You can still go there for coffee and such, but her pizza's so good you'll eat too much. She has forty-nine kinds of toppings and cheese, so everyone is sure to be pleased, fulie and Tim and Derek are good; each one's doing his bets as we all should ... CHRISTIAN KASTENS: You remember our Governor from out west, Christian Kastens and they say he's the very best. After graduating from the UN of L he went into politics where he really excelled. After spending a year or two in other positions, he secured a job on the judicial commission. He really did well—his opinions were true, on points of law people asked him what to do. So now he’s the head of this great state, and doing a wonderful job I'm glad to relate. Taxes are down and road repairs going well. He's making Nebraska a wonderful place in which to dwell. So keep up the good work—we need more like Kastens. He does more work than he really has to ... DEAN A NAMUTH: I saw in the paper some time in the past that Deana was going to UNL real fast. She was in the honors course I was happy to hear; I know she made all A's. I really never feared. But she made her name in the Symphony band; she was the best drummer in Nebraskaland. She gave concerts and demonstrations and even taught a lot of kids just how they really ought to play the drums and timpani bells; her students always really excelled. After four years what was her desire, but sign up for a Masters she really did aspire, then she headed west to find a position. She accepted one at Chappell on one condition, that her band be good and clear and loud. They wanted a band to stand out from the crowd. Now her band is famous; their reputation's famous made. They're heading east for the innaugural parade. ... CHRIS SKOV: Chris Skov went off to Hastings Tec, to be a mechanic was what he expects, to learn to fix cars and tractors and such, an engine seems to need fixing so much. But upon graduation he thought some more, I really want to farm with Kurt—he knows the score; so he came back home and started with Huffs, to farm and ranch—he never got enough. He drives the tractor, he bales the hay, he worked every day and he saved his pay. As his nest egg grew by leaps and bounds, he bought all the land that could be found, and then wouldn't you know—on his land they found oil. Now Chris is rolling in cash—he doesn’t let his money spoil ... 9
