GODSPELL In the opening scene of GODSPELL these robots portray how humans are like robots before they see the light of God, and how |ohn the Baptist gave them the light by baptisting them. GODSPELL - is a musical based on a modern day version of the gospel of St. Matthew. Gospel'' means good news. The word GODSPELL plays off this word. In the play we presented the good news: and also the cast tried to create a spell of God, which meant showing love and kindness to the audience. Many people laughed and cried during the performance, which was said to be one of the best plays Lodgepole has ever done. But it wasn't that easy to get ready for the play. Many grueling hours were spent learning the music and also the lines. Robby, who played Jesus, was the only one who had to really spend alot of time learning lines. The rest of the cast performed little skits about different parts of the gospel of St. Matthew The play focused on the parables of Jesus who was played by Robby Ommen. The historical element occured when Judas, Bob Campbell, betrayed Jesus. Other than this, the play consisted of parable-pantomine enacted by the clowns who represented human kind, the clowns were played by: Julie Mika, Rena Block, Sandi Skov, Ron lessen, Kent Sick, John Bartling, Nancy Namuth, Deb Buss. The light crew was Cliff Grimes, Kurt Huff, Randy Anderson, and Ron Ommen. The director was Mr. Diercks, who was in charge of all the wild animals, and the musical director was Mr. Franklin along with Mr. Rolaids Faye Rankin and Judy Fraass played accompaniment. On the drums —Chuck Davis; Sonia Sick played electric piano; also Joyce Franklin played the organ.
