Roger, Dale, and Darrell Co-captains: Jeff and Mark SEASON'S RECORD ■ Lodgepole 18 Dalton 12 Lodgepole 30 Sunflower 6 Lodgepole 28 Lyman 6 Lodgepole 28 Dix 29 Lodgepole 20 Gurley 0 Lodgepole 53 Melbeta 0 Lodgepole 34 Potter 12 Lodgepole 32 Harrisburg 14 Lodgepole 24 St. Pat's 50 Kevin Sick fired four touchdown passes and ran for another while Pat Lierly and Jeff Misegadis combined for five touchdowns as Lodgepole thrashed Melbeta Friday night, 53-0. Sick fired TD passs of 47, 46, 10, and 14 yards to lead Lodgepole's explosive offense. Lierly scored three times and Misegadis twice to aid the Panthers. Kevin played a fine game, Lodgepole coach Gary Hartman said. His best of the season. Sick hit on six of 15 passes for 149 yards. Lodgepole led the Eagles in rushing yards byj ust 163-149 yards but their scoring came on big plays. The first of those came in the first quarter before Lodgepole fans had yet settled in their seats. Dennis Trulmp took the opening kickoff and sprinted 50 yards for a quick 6-0 lead. Sick gave the Panthers a 12-0 lead in the opening quarter when he fired a 47 yard scoring strike to Misegadis. The extra point failed. Sick again used the long pass effectively in the second quarter by completing a 46 yard touchdown aerial to Lierly. Misegadis convened the PAT and Lodgepole lead, 20-0. Doug Kripal and Bill Mitchell Mark Bartling and Jeff Markel were the two freshmen lettermen The Panthers averaged 29.6 points-per-game during the year and gave up 15.0 points-per-game on defense Junior transfer student Pat Lierley led the Lodgepole offense this season with 1,214 yards rushing on 200 attempts for a 6 1 yard-per game average Lierley also caught three Dasses for 111 vards. scored 20 touchdowns on the season and led the squad with 129 points Jeff Misegadis was Lodgepole’s second leading ground gainer with 579 yards on 100 attempts Kevin Sick had 146 yards on 59 carries and Dennis Trump had 104 yards on 19 carries Quarterback Sick finished the year with 33-83 passes completed for 513 yards and eight touchdowns Trump completed one of two aenals for 0 yards Sick’s favorite target, Roger Behrends, caught 14 passes for 230 yards and three touchdowns Roger - Second Team All Conference; Honorable All Conference.
