■ . S-'J+VJJX m ■■■ r • .vf l£n i_____ LODGEPOLE HIGH SCHOOL ?r Lodgepole, Nebraska PANTHER FOREWORD The Panther represents one full year of high school life--classes, cramming for exams, the excitement of a close game, proms, students, teachers, and books--which we now find weren't opened often enough. The words and pictures on the pages of this annual are but a backward glance into the school months just past. This glance will serve only as a reminder. To store away a period of time for future use is impossible, but to file between the covers of this book one year of life for reliving in the future was our aim and is now our accomplishment. The year 196l-'62 is yours. You made it; the Panther preserves it. HEAVEN CAN WAIT This play, directed by Mr. Wise, was presented by the senior class on November 17 with extra help com ing from several underclassmen. Joe Pendleton, a boxer, was taken from earth four years early as a re suit of a mistake made by a messenger from Heaven. The entire play deals with the situations Joe en counters as he tries to find happiness in new bodies--that of a millionaire and a fellow boxer. Mr. Jordan, the chief of the messengers, and Joe arrive at the Farnsworth mansion just as Mr. Farnsworth is murdered by his wife and her lover. Joe decides to occupy the millionaire's body long enough to help a lady in distress. This picture, taken at one of the many night rehearsals, shows that hard work, as well as a lot of fun, was involved in presenting the play.
